Whispers of the Forgotten Episode 2

Her best friend Thabang had a lot of work at the police station, and it was difficult for him to visit Thabiso, he wanted to be with him. Thabang was a good detective who could solve unsolved cases. He was a good person at his job. Thabang had a beautiful daughter Mpolokeng ,

“Father, I have finished eating and I don’t want to be late for school,” said Mpolokeng as she picked up her school bag.

“Okay, wait for me in the car, I will go get the documents from the study room,” said Thabang as he gave his daughter the car keys. Her mother was not responsible for her daughter; she was cheating, so Thabang decided to raise his daughter. Dimpho divorced Thabang because Thabang was always busy and Dimpho thought Thabang didn't have time for her.

Later that day, Thabiso visited Thabang. Thabang was busy writing a report on his computer when he heard someone knocking. “I wasn’t expecting anyone. Who is it?” Thabang wondered as he approached to open the door. Thabang was very surprised because he wasn’t expecting his friend.

“Why do you look so surprised, like you saw a ghost?” Thabiso laughed.

“Don’t worry, come in,” Thabang smiled.

“Would you like a soft drink or whisky?”

“I like whisky, I’m very thirsty,” Thabiso said, his face full of joy.

“I hope you’re well, brother.”

“I’m trying and I’m happy to get a job as a truck driver at Platberg Bricks,” Thabiso said.

“I’m very happy to hear that,” Thabang smiled. Thabiso and Thabang were happy together after a long time. Thabiso broke down because of the death of his parents.

“I am going to cut off the heads of the murderers who killed my parents,” said Thabiso, and he was drunk.

“You can’t say that, we are having fun,” said Thabang, drinking a glass of wine.

“You don’t understand why you ran away,” said Thabiso. Thabang was surprised.

“Man, I was young and I didn’t think straight,” said Thabang.

“You decided to leave me. Was it necessary?” Thabiso asked, and Thabang didn’t know how to answer him.

“Thabiso, you need to rest. You are very drunk.” Thabiso clenched his fist.

“You didn’t want to be with me and help me after my parents died, that’s why you ran away!” said Thabiso angrily.

“I can see that you are crazy. I am trying to show you love so that we can start our friendship again.”

“After so many years, you have decided to start a friendship with me?” Thabiso was tempted after asking Thabang a question.

“Thabiso, I am raising my daughter; her mother did not take care of her. It was difficult for me to visit you, and I wanted to visit you. I took her to court to have full custody of Mpolokeng,” said Thabang. Thabiso did not want to listen to him and decided to leave. It was difficult for Thabang, and he tried to stop him. Thabang wanted to be happy with his friend after so many years.

“You can’t go, we are still talking,” said Thabang as he followed her. “I don’t want to talk to you. I am leaving,” said Thabiso as he opened the door. Thabang was hurt.

The workers were busy laying bricks; the name of the company was Platberg Bricks, a company that supplied bricks to the entire town of Platberg. The company was big and had many employees. Mali was Thabiso's second-best friend, and they understood each other. Mali wanted to help Thabiso and be like other people and hoped that one day Thabiso would be a good person. It was lunch time, Mali and his co-worker Neo, who is a friend of Lerato, were worried about Thabiso's behaviour.

“Man, I'm really worried about Thabiso,” said Mali, looking very worried.

“His behaviour is going to drive him crazy.”

“I tried to talk to him yesterday, but he doesn't seem to be asking for help,” said Neo.

“If we fail to help him, he could find himself in big trouble,” said Mali, looking very worried.

“I hope one day he will get counselling,” said Neo. The staff wondered why Thabiso was behaving like this.

“His behaviour worries us a lot.”

“We need to take action before he does something bad,” added Neo.

“Thabiso will not have friends and people close to him,” said Mali.

“The staff don’t want to work with him; they think he is crazy,” said Neo.

“One day, sir, Thabiso will change,” said Mali, looking hopeful. The staff were hopeful that Thabiso would change, to be like other people.
