BLOOD ON THE FARM
Today’s youth are struggling because of the high rate of unemployment in South Africa. Many have graduated, but they are still roaming the streets, while others are using drugs and drinking alcohol. Kamoho, Themba and Sibusiso were young boys who finished Grade 12, but they faced many challenges in life. These young boys applied for jobs, but there was no luck. To get a job, you need to have a connection.
Kamoho was playing Ludo with his friends, and there was nothing they could do. “Guys, this hunger is killing us,” Kamoho looked worried. “When you look for a job, you need to be connected,” Themba added. “We need to come up with a plan,” Sibusiso suggested. These boys looked at each other. “You are right,” Kamoho rolled the dice. “Do you have anything?” Themba asked. “We need to rob a farm.” Sibusiso was not happy about Kamoho’s opinion. “You are out of your mind, you will get us killed,” Sibusiso said. “Sibusiso is right, those people have guns,” Themba added. Kamoho looked at them and nodded. “Guys, that farm is a black owned,” Kamoho said. Themba and Sibusiso didn’t want to rob a farm, but he kept pushing them, telling them he knew everything about that farm. “Guys, if you agree with me, we could bring a stack of money and become millionaires,” Kamoho said. “I hope there won’t be a bloodshed,” Themba said. “I promise you that.” These boys planned their mission and agreed on time and date.
Kamoho arrived at home and found that there was no food. “Whenever I get here, there is a hunger.” Kanoho opened the fridge door, and it was empty. Kamoho looked at his mother. “How are we going to survive this?” Kamoho asked. “I will make a plan tomorrow,” his mother Thandi said politely. Kamoho was so furious. “You always make plans but there is nothing to wear and eat!” Kamoho shouted. “Hey, don’t shout at me,” Thandi reprimanded him. “But ma…..”
“There is no but here, I said I will make a plan,” Thandi said. Kamoho was not in a good mood, and he went to bed without eating. Thandi was hurt, her heart was heavy.
Kamoho met with his friends at their usual spot. “Guys, we need to raid that farm today. I know we can do it,” Kamoho said. “But guys, we don’t have guns,” Sibusiso said. “How about we approach Mike? He could help us with guns,” Themba suggested. “You might be right, but what if we don’t have enough money to pay him?” Kamoho asked. “I don’t think so, those people are loaded,” Sibusiso said. “Guys, we need to be careful when we raid it,” Themba said. These guys planned their mission again, and Themba found out that the lady does not have a gun; Themba has been working for her for decades.
Palesa was busy having dinner at her farm with her daughter. “I need you to finish eating, don’t forget your homework,” Palesa said. “Yes, ma, I am already finished,” Lebohang said. Within the blink of an eye, a gunshot was heard. “What is that?” Palesa asked. “It must be a gun, call the police,” Lebohang was scared. Kamoho was standing at the door and shot the door. “It is now our time,” Kamoho laughed. Palesa ran to the room, and he ran after her.
“Hey, stop there!” Kamoho shouted. Palesa stood still and didn’t move. “Please don’t kill us,” Palesa said with a trembling voice. Kamoho approached her, pointing with a gun. “Get in,” Kamoho said. Palesa entered her bedroom. “I need a safe, don’t make something stupid,” Kamoho said. “It is over there,” Palesa pointed at the safe. Kamoho tied Palesa and went to the safe and asked Palesa a password to get access to the money. “Good girl,” Kamoho said. Kamoho found stack of money and started to put it in his bag. “I am rich today,” Kamoho cheered.
Sibusiso and Themba were with Lebohang. “This girl is so fit,” Themba smiled. “She is so gorgeous, friend,” Sibusiso said and started to touch her. Lebohang screamed. “Hey, you are making a noise,” Themba said. “Please don’t rape me,” Lebohang cried. “Don’t make something stupid, you will get hurt,” Sibusiso pointed her. When Sibususo unzipped his trouser, Kamoho appeared. “Guys, we need to move. I have noticed that a silent alarm went off,” Kamoho said. These guys moved out and ran away.
On their way to the main gate, a police van appeared. Kamoho and his friends took out their guns and went back to hide themselves. A bullet came out and missed Themba. “Guys, they are shooting at us,” Themba yelled. Kamoho shot back at the police. “Constable, call for back up,” a police officer said. These boys managed to escape and outran the two police officers. “Guys, they won’t find us, I managed to get R30 000,” Kamoho said. Money is an evil thing. “Guys, we need to share it,” Themba said. “We can divide it by three,” Sibusiso suggested. “But this money is not enough, guys,” Kamoho said. “I always go to sleep without eating.” Themba and Sibusiso got angry. “You are out of your mind, we need to share this money,” Themba said. “I am the one you found the safe while you were busy trying to rape her daughter!” Kamoho shouted. “Hey, we are in this together,” Sibusiso said. Themba took out the gun and pointed Kamoho. “Themba, relax, we can’t plan this mission and fight each other,” Sibusiso said. “You are pointing a gun at me? You won’t get a cent,” Kamoho said. Themba became furious, an evil spirit entered at his heart and shot Kamoho.“What are you doing, you bastard?” Sibusiso asked. Themba took a bag full of money, and they ran away.
On their way to home Sibusiso stopped. “What is wrong with you?” Sibusiso asked. “You will annoy me, that bastard was going to take all this money.”
“But we agreed to share it,” Sibusiso said. “Kamoho is greedy, let’s go.” While on the way, a helicopter approached them. “Bastard!” Themba shouted. Other police vans blocked them. “Surrender, you are all under arrest,” a police officer said. These boys gave up and got arrested.
