An Ebony Queen

Here is the poem: 

Gorgeous, my ebony queen,
Your beauty shines like a radiant dream,
In your dark, velvety skin, I see,
A canvas of loveliness, crafted by destiny.

Your eyes, like polished onyx, gleam,
Reflecting the beauty that's yours to beam,
Your full lips, a rosebud's promise sweet,
Inviting all to revel in your loveliness unique.

Your tresses, a cascade of night's dark hue,
Frame your face, a masterpiece, anew,
Your smile, a sunrise in the morning dew,
Illuminating all, with a love that's strong and true.

My queen , my friend, you're a work of art,
A masterpiece that touches the heart,
In your presence, I am lost, yet found,
Forever enthralled, by your beauty unbound.

You're a gem, a treasure, rare and fine,
A beauty that's timeless, forever divine,
Dineo, my ebony queen, I adore,
Forever and always, my love for you will endure.

A Hard Life

Problems were spreading all over the world, but for Lerato , a humble and compassionate person, the problems were at home. “Mama, I don’t like what’s happening here anymore,” Lerato said, her voice trembling. “My father has become a monster; we always live in tears.” Lerato sobbed into her mother's shoulder. Her mother, Mmalerato , looked utterly drained. “This is not a life, my child. I need you to focus on your education and forget about your father,” Mmalerato said, holding her daughter tightly. Just as they were talking, her husband, Thabiso , stumbled into the room. He reeked of alcohol. “Mmalerato?” He slurred. Mmathabo sat quietly in the kitchen, a cup of tea warming her trembling hands. Her thoughts were heavy, her heart restless as she wondered what was going on in the world. Life had become so unpredictable. While she was lost in thought, her father, Mohau, walked in and noticed the sadness on her face. “My child, why are you so sad?” Mohau asked gently. Mmathabo sighed deeply before answering. “I have bad news. Palesa and the baby have been taken to the provincial hospital. The doctors say the child is not in a good condition.” Mohau moved closer to her. “My child, everything will be fine.
